Don’t let hair loss keep you from living the life you want to live!
I remember my mother going to the hairdresser every week. They would wash and set her hair. She would sit under the dryer until her hair was crisp. After removing the rollers and clips they would comb it out. The comb out was the real art, combing through the rolled sections of hair and pin curls then teasing the hair and shaping it into “the” coif.
This process would last a week. She would wrap a net around her hair at night to keep it in place while she slept. She would touch it up in the morning and she was good to go. That was the ritual day after day, week after week. I don’t think she ever washed her hair during those years.
Before

After
Women of that era hardly ever worked with their hair in its natural state. Thinning hair wasn’t as serious a problem was it is today. The setting and teasing and the deft hands of the hair dresser covered any imperfections.
Women started wearing their hair more naturally in the 1960’s. The once a week ritual had come to an end. Now the timing depended on the need for a haircut. Now it was wash, cut, and blow-dry. This meant washing your hair on a regular basis and styling it yourself. The natural look, though more flattering makes it more difficult to hide thinning hair.
I didn’t start out to work with women’s hair loss. After working with men’s hair loss for years I started getting calls from women with hair loss problems. They saw or heard about what I was doing with the hair loss issues men were having and asked for my help and that’s how it started.
Women understand the cosmetic process but they are bombarded with hair replacement concepts that don’t work and don’t give them the hair they need.
When you see the changes hair replacement makes in someone’s life: self esteem, confidence, looking good, walking out the door like she owns the world. Hair replacement is magical. It transforms people and their lives. It is exciting to be part of this process. You know what they say, “Do something you love and you will never work a day”.
